Abstract

Our goal was to investigate readiness of art students in application of e-learning. This is a Descriptive- Survey research. Three hundred and forty-seven students of Alzahra University, Tarbiat Modares University, University of Tehran and Art University in 2013-2014 were selected by multistage cluster sampling and via Morgan Table. Their readiness for E-learning application was assessed by researcher-developed questionnaire. Data analysis is done by indexes of Descriptive statistics and One-Sample T-test. The results showed that a significant relationship was found between readiness of undergraduate students, graduate Students and post-graduate students to apply E-learning, but there was no significant relationship between the other variables of research (Sex, University and Field of Study). Results revealed that Art students were located in Moderate level of readiness for applying E-learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the training of job competencies appropriate to the approach of creative industries in higher education of Iranian handicrafts, which was done with exploratory sequential mixed methods of tool making model. The qualitative part was performed with a qualitative multi-method approach, using content analysis and descriptive phenomenology. In this part, by purposive sampling method, 17 samples of graduates of this field participated in the interview and 8 themes were extracted. Quantitative part was done by survey method. By cluster and available sampling from the final year students of higher education in handicraft, 147 samples participated in the evaluation. The performance of the Bachelor and Master curriculum in this field in job competencies in all extracted elements was lower than the average standard and it is suggested that in handicraft higher education programs, courses should be planned in accordance with the required job competencies

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the experienced curricula of the skill-based higher education system from the perspectives of students therefore, a quantitative approach and a descriptive-survey method were utilized. The statistical population of the study comprised students of comprehensive scientific-applied universities in Iran. Stratified random sampling method and Cochran's formula were applied to select 660 students as the sample. Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaireof skill-based curriculum in higher education, and the analysis was conducted through one-group t-test, Friedman. Content validity was verified and confirmed by curriculum and structural validity experts using software (PLS). The reliability coefficient was calculated using Cronbach's alpha (0.86). The final results suggest that the situation of the experienced curriculum was relatively favorable from the students' perspective in the three dimensions of "adapting the curriculum to 'the goals of the university, the skill-based system" and "executive aspects of the new curriculum." Accordingly, the skill-based higher education system in Iran requires great attention and fundamental changes need be made in curricula and teaching methods. Thus, this study suggests that the curriculum of the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) be designed to teach different skills, applied in professional and social life, and taught in simulated and practical educational environments in order to achieve the desired goals of the skill-based system.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the educational activities of the preschool mathematics books regarding geometric shapes using documentary method. For the analysis, we used the document published in 1396 (2017) by the Ministry of Education in Iran for preschool level., as well as the zero, first and second level of the revised Van Hiele Model (Clementes and Batista, 1992) including Pre-recognition, Syncretic and analysis as the criteria. At first level, 10 criteria for analyzing activities of geometry shapes from the first three levels of the revised Van Hiele Model (Clementes and Batista, 1992) exteracted. Then five textbooks which were recommended by Education Growth Bibliography, Welfare Organization and several preschool centers selected and their geometric shapes content evaluated according to the 10 extracted criteria. Results showed the highest frequency of educational activities belonged to level one and the lowest frequency beloged to zero level of the revised Van Hiele model. The study concluded that the content of the preschool mathematics books needs to be revised and the educational activities of higher level than two recommended to be transferred to higher grade mathematics textbooks.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to systematically study the applications of integration in elementary school curricula. Therefore, the applications of integration were examined from all aspects. The research approach was qualitative and with a hybrid strategy. To achieve the above explanation, synthesis research method and content analysis technique have been used. The study population was domestic research since 1380 and foreign research since 2015, which was done through content analysis, classification and screening, and 91 studies that met the criteria and criteria were purposefully selected, coded and classified. Then, using content analysis, 5 dimensions were identified, which are: application of integration in physical education curriculum, application of integration in art curriculum and application of integration of art with other curricula, application of integration of life skills training in the program Curriculum, application of integration of ICT (information and communication technology) in curricula, design and organization of curricula.

Abstract

The main purpose of the present study is to develop a practical guide to the integrated curriculum of the third grade of elementary school. The research approach was qualitative (qualitative content analysis method) and the research community was all third grade elementary textbooks and teacher teaching guides of each book. The theme-based integrated curriculum approach (concept-based and skill-based) was chosen. Concepts and skills were extracted from the textbooks and the objectives of each lesson were extracted from the teacher's teaching guides and coded at the same time. Codes that had a common theme were placed in one category and formed the combined themes of the curriculum. 192 initial codes were obtained. After classification, 106categories were obtained and finally, 14 combined themes were formed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensions, components and indicators of a teacher's competence as a lifelong learner in related documents. The research approach is qualitative with a hybrid strategy. The research method is synthesis research and content analysis technique. The research population includes all published works in this field without time limit in valid databases that were classified and screened during content analysis appropriate to the purpose of the research. 57 documents were purposefully selected, coded and classified using MaxQDA 2020 software. The findings showed that the dimensions and components of a teacher's competence as a lifelong learner are: "Individual mechanism (metacognitive skills, personality traits, communication and interpersonal skills)", "Information and technology literacy mechanism (digital competencies, information literacy familiarity) In the sphere of life) "and" mechanism of action (activism, reflection, professional learning, intellectual ability, developed professional identity, familiarity with knowledge management, mastery of foreign languages

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the perception of primary school teachers on how to help students in instructing of the volume, using the task-based interview method. For this purpose, some tasks was designed and implemented with two general question for six volunteer primary school teachers who had experience in teaching fifth and sixth grades. The answers were analyzed according to the instruction component of the cognitive activation model in the classroom (Kraus et al., 2008). The results showed the lecture method, the less use of concrete representations, different perceptions of the volume definition, spatial limitations and relying on arithmetic representation in solving the task. In total, the results of this research clarify the need of teachers to improve their knowledge in the field of instructing of the volume, and for this purpose, suggestions have been presented.
