با توجه به اهمیت سلامت و بهداشت در توسعه جوامع، در این تحقیق به بررسی عوامل موثر بر انتخاب خدمات مختلف دندانپزشکی و مخارج مربوط به آن به عنوان یکی از مهم‌ترین ابعاد بهداشت و درمان پرداخته شد. به همین منظور تقریبا 40000  خانوار ایرانی در سال 1394 به عنوان نمونه مورد بررسی انتخاب شدند و با استفاده از الگوی دو مرحله¬ای هکمن عوامل موثر بر انتخاب مصرف‌کننده در استفاده از خدمات مختلف دندانپزشکی مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. نتایج این تحقیق بیانگر این است که درآمد خانوارها، برخورداری از خدمات بیمه درمانی و سطح تحصیلات از مهم‌ترین عوامل تاثیرگذار بر انتخاب خدمات دندانپزشکی و مخصوصا خدمات لوکس دندانپزشکی مانند ارتودنسی و ترمیم لثه و مخارج مربوط به آنها در خانوارهای مورد بررسی می‌باشد. کشش درآمدی خدمات عصب کشی واحد و کشش درآمدی معاینه برابر 4/0 بوده ولی کشش درآمدی خدمات کشیدن دندان منفی به‌دست‌آمده‌اند. همچنین نسبت به برخورداری از بیمه، کشش استفاده از خدمات معاینه حدود 1/0، کشش استفاده از خدمات عصب‌کشی و پر کردن حدود 6/0 و کشش کشیدن دندان 1- محاسبه شده است.
