Abstract

Today the quantitative assessment of economic and social impacts of petroleum products supply constraints is one of the main policy issues in Iran. This issue arises from the fact that importing gasoline, gasoil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is restricted by international sanctions. In this paper, we showed that a demand driven Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) is not a suitable tool for answering the above question. So, a modified SAM, known as mixed supply driven SAM is suggested. For this purpose the energy SAM of 2006 is used.

The overall results reveal that: 1) Petroleum products supply constraints have the most impacts on crude oil and natural gas, retail and wholesale, chemical and agricultural sectors.2) Operating surplus has the most reduction among the other production factors. Results also showed that the fall of urban income as a consequence of supply constraints is more than rural labor either relatively or absolutely.

Abstract

Investigating the spillover effect of logistics performance index on exports in free zones is considered one of the important cases for special attention in these areas, which in recent years has received less attention. Therefore, in this study, by using different methods of spatial panel data, to investigate the spillover effect of the logistics performance index among the seven existing free zones and based on six the performance indices of the logistics industry has been studied during the years 2014 to 2023. This study has investigated the performance of logistics on exports (which is a composite index and areas) in Iran’s free zones by using different spatial regression models. The present study was conducted with the panel data and it shows that findings of this study indicate that the effect of logistics performance index in the SDM model has been confirmed and logistics performance has a positive and significant effect on the export of free zones, so that the growth of logistics indicators in the country leads to growth and speed of exports in free zones. Moreover, investment, labor and the degree of openness of the economy have a positive and significant effect on the export value of free trade zones. Therefore, it is suggested that economic policy makers improve production and export capacity in these areas by improving the logistics, investment and employment performance index.

Abstract

Study and modeling for appropriate planning and policy-making in the energy sector to ensure energy security (security of supply for consumers of crude oil and natural gas;security of demand for exporting economic enterprises) and consequently ensuring maximum intergenerational benefits is of great importance. Iran is a producer and exporter of oil and gas; and in such countries, the economy generally relies on oil and gas revenues. Naturally, it is necessary to maximize the profit from oil and gas revenues through planning for optimal production from oil and gas fields as a necessity. In this study, prioritizing the optimal solutions for allocating natural gas to various sectors including construction, industry (petrochemicals), transportation (in the form of compressed natural gas), power generation, export, injection into oil wells to increase recovery, relying on modeling the production chain, supply, natural gas injection in the oil field, and the added value from the injection, has been investigated by LEAP software, taking into account real and operational constraints, taking into account the South Pars gas source
