Abstract

Testosterone enanthate increases muscle growth and athletic performance but is associated with oxidative stress and tissue damage. This study aimed to investigate the effect of propolis on oxidative stress markers induced by testosterone enanthate in the kidney tissue of female Wistar rats undergoing resistance training. Twenty-two 8-week-old female rats, weighing 208.22±14.17 g, were randomly divided into three groups: 1) resistance training + placebo (n=6), 2) resistance training + testosterone enanthate (n=8), 3) resistance training + testosterone enanthate + propolis (n=8). The rats underwent an 8-week resistance training protocol involving ladder climbing (five days per week). Testosterone enanthate was administered at a dose of 20 mg/kg body weight per injection, and propolis was administered at a dose of 400 mg/kg body weight by gavage (each three times a week). The levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), and malondialdehyde (MDA) in kidney tissue were measured by spectrophotometry. One-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post hoc tests were used for statistical analysis. The results showed that testosterone enanthate significantly decreased GPX and SOD levels and increased MDA levels. Propolis consumption led to a relative reduction in these oxidative stress markers, demonstrating its potential antioxidant effects.

Abstract

Abstract:
Introduction and purpose: Back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders. Since it is difficult for people with back pain to bear weight, a treatment that can strengthen the muscles of the lumbar region while bearing weight without pain is of great interest. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to compare the effect of eight weeks of traditional resistance training and TRX on the performance of people with non-specific chronic back pain.
Research method: 45 football players aged 20 to 30 years with chronic back pain were purposefully selected and placed in 3 groups, TRX exercises, traditional exercises and a control group of 15 people each. Before and after the training period, performance variable was evaluated by square test, and trunk endurance was evaluated by Magill tests. Further, the subjects of the experimental groups performed their respective exercises for 8 weeks and 3 sessions of 45 minutes each week, while the control group went through the research process without specialized back pain exercises. For the inferential analysis of the data, the statistical method of variance analysis of repeated measures was used.
Findings: In the intra-group comparison, a significant effect on performance was observed in both traditional and TRX training groups, but no significant difference was observed in the control group. The findings showed that, in the intergroup comparison between the intervention groups compared to the control and between the two intervention groups, a significant difference was observed in the performance and endurance variables of the trunk muscles, so that the TRX training group had a greater effect and effect size than the traditional training. .
Conclusion: In general, the results of this research showed that the TRX training program has a significant effect on improving performance compared to traditional resistance training.

Abstract

The present study was aimed to determine the effect of cold-water immersion and (TDCS) during the recovery period on blood lactate changes in and subsequent performance of professional male swimmers. For this purpose, 20 male participated in this study in two days with an interval of 48 hours. The two-hundred meter breaststroke was performed every day and then the subjects participated in one of the protocols, an anodic stimulation (with intensity of 2 mA)or the artificially exposed to anodic stimulation on the first day, and on the second day they were experienced the cold water immersion (12° C).The subjects' blood lactate was measured. Finally, in order to measure the effect of the investigated methods on their performance, the 200-meter swim was repeated. To analyze the data dependent t-test and analysis of covariance, LSD follow-up, analysis of variance with repeated measures, were used. The results of this study indicated that swimming performance significantly improved only in the TDCS group, with a reduction in the record time (P = 0.001). Blood lactate showed a greater decrease in the cold water immersion group (P = 0.001)

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to biomechanically simulate athlete's leg and compression garment to measure the pressure on a young athlete's leg in order to apply more optimal and uniform pressure distribution while providing a greater sense of comfort when wearing.
The body condition and body shape of the athlete are measured by anthropometric method. Although Using a CT scan of the athlete's body (athlete's limb) and the mechanical properties of the pressure garment (leggings) that made of elastane spacer fabric was simulated by finite element technique. The results of measuring the real pressure on the young athlete's foot were measured and compared by a kikuhime device. The values of pressure applied by the leg in the real state and simulation indicate a maximum error of 14/44 percent (Cross section below the knee and the point behind the leg), a minimum error of 8 percent (Cross section of the ankle and the front point of the leg). Despite the assumptions and sources of error in this simulation, the results show that measured pressure values in the simulation mode with the real mode with incredible accuracy

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of snorkeling on teaching basic swimming skills in non-swimmer children and teenagers with fear of water. This research was an experimental type with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The participants were 30 children (8.95±0.64 years old) and 30 teenagers (15.06±0.71 years old) non-swimmers who were afraid of water, and the participants of each group were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). After participating in the pre-test of skills of entering the water, opening the eyes in the water, gliding, orientation in the water and movement in the water and breath holding, all four groups entered a 20-session course of swimming training, so that the experimental group with snorkel and the control group without snorkel were taught basic swimming skills by an instructor. Then all four groups participated in the post-test. The data were analyzed by two-factor multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and Benferoni's post hoc test. The results of the findings show that the main effects of age were not significant, but the main effects of training and the interactive effects of age and training were significant. Using a snorkel in children and teenagers did not have a significant effect on the skill of entering the water, opening the eyes in the water, but it had a significant and positive effect on the skills of gliding, orientation in the water and movement in the water. Also, the use of snorkel in children and teenagers had a significant and negative effect on breath holding skill. Considering that the results of the present study show the positive effects of using a snorkel on learning the skills of gliding and orientation in water and moving in water and its negative effect on breath holding skill in children and teenagers, it is recommended that the instructors who use snorkel to acclimatize children and teenagers to the water, provide additional training to improve the skill of holding their breath.

Abstract

The researchers conducted the present study with the aim of investigating the pain and muscle disorders of patients with covid-19 with people who have experienced it. The research was applied and comparative. Samples were calculated using G-power of 303 people, and sports teachers were excluded from the research. The Nordic questionnaire was provided to Ardabil education and training employees after the investigation, the number of people with one year of identification and the number of 113 people with the age range of 30 to 45 years reported no reduction. Then, musculoskeletal disorders of 9 body areas in both groups were evaluated using descriptive statistics and chi-square test at a significance level of 0.01. The muscle pain of the affected group was significantly (P<0.01) higher than that of the healthy group, and also based on the chi-square test, the amount of back and neck pain was 52% and 45%, respectively, in affected people compared to other organs. It was more meaningful. (P<0.01) noticed that there was no significant difference between the pain and discomfort of different organs in the non-observed group. Corona patients may experience pain, and the cause of it in the Nordic questionnaire, in addition to physical abnormalities and excessive muscle disease, can be from Corona disease; Therefore, the Nordic questionnaire should be used.

Abstract

In order to remain competitive, athletes and coaches are constantly looking for ways to enhance performance. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of HIFT training and hypoxia mask on maximum oxygen consumption and respiratory efficiency of the players of Iran's men's national ice hockey team. In this semi-experimental study, 14 players of the Iranian national ice hockey team were divided into two HIFT and HIFT exercise with hypoxia mask groups, then both HIFT groups and HIFT exercise with hypoxia mask, performed HIFT training sessions with 30 seconds repetition and five sets for about an hour, three sessions a week for six weeks. maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) and respiratory efficiency (vE/VCO2) were measured using gas analyzer. The results showed that HIFT and HIFT with hypoxia mask have an increasing effect on VO2max, but there was no difference between the effect of HIFT and HIFT with hypoxia mask on VO2max (P=0.390). vE/VCO2 decreased in both groups, but there was no difference between the effect of HIFT training and hypoxia mask on vE/VCO2 (P<0.05).
According to the similar respiratory performance benefits, elite male ice hockey players can benefit from HIFT training.

Abstract

Background and Aims:The necessity and importance of such research, especially among the young is quite tangible. The purpose of the present study was to compare the effect of 8 weeks of corrective selected exercise and combination kinesiotaping and tera band training on the kyphosis angle of adolescent boys with kyphosis. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, spinal deformity information of 36 boy students in gym of Esfahan city, 15-18year participated in this study. Then boy student’s participated in an 8-week corrective selected exercise and Combination of Kinesiotaping and Teraband، the end their deformity were evaluated again.For data analysis descriptive statistics ، T tests and SPSS Software was used.The angleof kyphosis in pre-test (48/8± 0/9) after using corrective selected exercise have had a significant reduction (46/9±0/8). Angle of kyphosis in pre-test (49. 1 ± 0.7) after using Combination of Kinesiotaping and Teraband have had a significant reduction (46/97±0/8). Conclusion:corrective exercises alone or in combination with new methods of training, the subjects had a positive impact on improving the kyphosis. But according to the results of this study, no significant difference was found between the corrective exercises with the combined method.

Abstract

Background and Objective: Since identifying the best way of performing the Judan Mai-Mawashi-Geri technique is one of the concerns of coaches and karatekas, the aim of this study was to compare the selected kinematic variables of four methods of implementing the Judan Mai-Mawashi-Geri technique by elite male karatekas.
Methodology: Eighteen elite male kumite practitioners voluntarily and purposefully participated in this study. Nine markers were attached to the anatomical points of the hitting foot and the four methods of implementing the Judan Mai-Mawashi-Geri technique were filmed by three Hero3 cameras at an imaging speed of 240 Hz. Using SkillSpector software (version: 1.3.2), the resultant of the peak velocity of the lower limb joints, total distance, total velocity, and total acceleration was directly obtained. The one-way analysis of variance and the Bonferroni post-hoc test (p≤0.05) were used with SPSS software (version: 22) for statistical analysis due to the normality of data distribution.
 Results: The results showed a significant difference in the four methods of performing the Judan Mai-Mawashi-Geri technique in the peak velocity of the pelvic, knee, and ankle joints as well as total distance, total velocity, and total acceleration.
Conclusion: According to the results، the first method of execution، which starts in the first phase with 90 degree hip flexion (knee lift)، due to high speed and the possibility of scoring in the shortest appropriate time interval، against other tactics, Due to the closure of the opponent's attack route، Dai and Deashi can be recommended as a more efficient technique to the Athlete of the Kumite.
