Abstract

The goal of this research was an investigation into the implicit and explicit memory bias against negative emotional information processing in adolescents with high and low trait anxiety. To do so, 2 adolescent groups of twenty with high trait (n=20) and low trait (n=20) were selected from a large pole of adolescents using Spielbergr’s State-Trait Anxiety inventory for Children (STAI-C). Following the two groups were matched in terms of variables including age, sex,and education level, Explicit Memory Test(EMT) and Implicit Memory Test(IMT),completing word stems, were used to assess the subjects. The stimulants, emotional items, included two series of threatening and neutral words in EXP and a set of ambiguous words. The results indicated that there were no significant differences between high trait and low trait anxiety groups in terms of subject sensitivity and bias against threatening and neutral stimulants. However, high trait group had completed words stems more than low trait group in implicit memory test. These results indicated the presence of implicit memory bias in high trait group. Generally, the results of the present research are in accord with other researches and support the principles governing memory bias and trait anxiety.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of neuroticism on processing of emotional faces in adolescents. The subjects of the study (30 subjects with high neuroticism and 30 subjects with low neuroticism) were selected based on their scores in Junior Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (JEPQ) and also a semi-structured clinical interview was performed. Then computerized pictorial version of modified dot-probe task was carried out on them. The data were analyzed through mixed analysis of variance. The results of this study indicated that adolescents with high neuroticism showed significant vigilance to angry emotional face while adolescents with low neuroticism showed significant avoidance from angry face. The findings of this study demonstrated that personality trait of neuroticism in adolescents can cause attention biases to emotional faces.

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic disease that adherence requires admission and care, therefore it is recommended to increase the knowledge and to increase the motivation of patients to take care of themselves. This study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of Intervention based on Informational–Motivational and Behavioral Skills (IMB) Self-Care Model on quality of life in students with diabetes. This study was an applied and quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-posttest with control group design with a population of children and adolescents with diabetes referring to diabetes mellitus center in Yazd. In addition, number of children and adolescents aged 10 to 17 who were selected by available sampling method.  The quality of life questionnaire used. Based on covariance analysis. There was a significant difference between the mean scores of quality of life in terms of group membership. In addition, the intervention improved the quality of life in students with an impact rate of 23.6%. Given that information, patient motivation as well as his behavioral skills on recovery His life is effective. the informational–motivational and behavioral skills self-care model could be regarded as a useful model for promoting health among individuals with diabetes.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 epidemic, different individuals experience different levels of anxiety associated with COVID-19, and many of them cite the Internet and online health information. The aim of the present study was to compare the online health information utilization, online shared identity, and online shared information usage in different levels of COVID-19 anxiety. In this causal-comparative study, the statistical population of the study consisted of college students of Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Guilan University during COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Among them, 387 students were selected by convenience sampling method and responded to COVID-19 Anxiety Questionnaire, Online Health Information Utilization Questionnaire, and Identity Bubble Reinforcement Scale. Considering the high and low total scores of the COVID-19 Anxiety Questionnaire, participants were divided into high-level COVID-19 anxiety (n=100) and low-level COVID-19 anxiety (n=100) groups. The results indicated individuals with high level of COVID-19 anxiety got higher scores in online health information utilization and online shared identity compared to individuals in low-level COVID-19 anxiety group (p <0/01). Admittedly, online shared identity is more prominent in individuals in high-level COVID-19 anxiety group and they rely more on health information available on the Internet.

Abstract

Self-differentiation is a contextual phenomenon and dependent on social conditions that is formed and experienced in a dynamic process under the influence of various conditions. Considering this issue, the question was raised, what are the basic components in the formation of self-differentiation? For this purpose, the qualitative approach, the systematic design of grounded theory at the level of conceptual ordering has been used. Through theoretical sampling and according to theoretical saturation, 17 people were interviewed. Data analysis was done using the first stage of theoratical coding method. After data analysis, 112 primary codes were identified, then 28 subcategories and 3 categories were formed. The findings show that self-differentiation emerges and flows in the form of independent thoughts, behaviors and attitudes along with identity seeking and social dignity. As a result, in the formation of self-differentiation, the basic components are mainly experienced as intellectual independence, but identity seeking and social dignity are another part of these components that are experienced. The findings of this study, guidance for future researches and provided a deeper understanding of this psychological characteristic in the cultural context, which can also have practical consequences in family therapy with regard to multicultural issues.

Abstract

The present research aimed to model the structural equations of marital burnout based on early maladaptive schemas, marital expectations, and emotional information processing, with the mediating role of sexual self-concept in women seeking divorce in  Shiraz. The present research was a correlational descriptive study of the structural equation modeling type. The statistical population of this research consisted of all women seeking divorce who were referred to family courts in the year 1402. From the statistical population, 320 individuals were selected using a multi-stage random sampling method. The research tools included the Pines Marital Burnout Questionnaire (1996), the Young Schema Questionnaire (2003), the Hope and Colleagues Marital Expectations Questionnaire (1389), the Baker Emotional Information Processing Questionnaire (2007), and the Snell Sexual Self-Concept Questionnaire (1995). The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results obtained from the direct relationships of the research variables indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas, marital expectations, and emotional information processing with marital burnout. Additionally, early maladaptive schemas, marital expectations, and emotional information processing have a positive and significant indirect effect on marital burnout through sexual self-concept. Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that sexual self-concept, as a mediating variable, was able to explain the relationship between early maladaptive schemas, marital expectations, and emotional information processing.
