Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of short-term dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques on quality of life in adolescent girls with symptoms of borderline personality disorder. In a semi-experimental design ,after screening, among the eligible individuals and 54 applicants were randomly divided into two equal groups according to the score level, Experimental group received dialectical behavior therapy in intensive group method (12 sessions twice a day, 3 times a week), while control group did not receive treatment. Participants completed the Quality of Life Scale (SF-36) in three stages of pre-test, post-test and follow-up. Data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANCOVA). The results showed significant differences between the two groups in the post-test for the mean components:
1- Physical Function (0.003) 2- Role / Emotional Restriction (0.042) 3- Energy / Fatigue (0.001) 4- Emotional Well-being (0.001) 5- Social Function (0.003) 6- Pain (0.0010) 7- General Health (0.001) as well as total quality of life score (0.003).At 4-month follow-up, the results were also consistent in the components of physical performance (0.013), social performance (0.030), total quality of life (0.049).

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this article is to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive therapy group training based on mindfulness on academic vitality and social health. Method: Quantitative-applied research of an experimental type with a pre-test, post-test design with a control group, and the statistical population includes all female students of the first grade of high school in Bandar Anzali city, who were randomly divided into two groups of 20 people, controlled and tested. Martin and Marsh's (2008) academic vitality questionnaires, Keyes and Shapiro's (2004) social health questionnaires, as well as the mindfulness training protocol have been used as the intervention variable of the research for data collection tools. To test the hypotheses, univariate covariance analysis was used using SPSS software. Findings: The research results showed that mindfulness training is effective on academic vitality and social health. Conclusion: Mindfulness training improves the social health and academic vitality of female students.

Abstract

According to the report of the World Health Organization, suicide is one of the main causes of death among young people and adolescents, in Iran, the available statistics indicate an increase in suicide, especially among adolescents, which requires deep analysis and investigation, so identifying the causes of action Adolescent suicide is considered a necessity. Therefore, the aim of this study is to provide a phenomenological explanation of adolescent girls' lived experiences regarding the causes of suicide attempts. The research method was a qualitative descriptive phenomenological type using thematic analysis technique. The field of research includes second secondary female students studying in Hamadan schools who committed suicide in 1402. 16 people were selected as a sample by purposive sampling method until theoretical saturation was reached. The data were collected using in-depth and semi-structured interviews, and the 7-step Claysey method was used for their analysis. The findings from the interviews were extracted and classified into 9 main themes and 21 sub-themes. which includes 1- family pressures. 2- Social and cultural pressures. 3- Psychological and emotional factors. 4- Emotional and life experiences. 5-Parenting style. 6- Social relations and friends. 7- Lack of coping skills and problem solving. 8- The pressures of the school environment and educational system. 9- Environmental and social factors. This research indicates that suicide attempts among adolescent girls are a complex and multifaceted phenomenon influenced by a combination of various factors. Therefore, in order to implement effective prevention and intervention strategies, it is essential that policies and support programs take into account the different individual, familial, social, and cultural dimensions. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of focusing on coping skills, psychological support, and changes in social environments such as family and school as key approaches to reducing suicidal behaviors in adolescent girls.
