The purpose of this study is to predict dissociative experiences based on psychological distress: with the mediating role of cognitive flexibility. According to the purpose, this research is an applied research. The present study is a descriptive-survey research using a questionnaire according to the method of data collection. Correlation analysis and structural equations using Smart PLS software have been used to test the hypotheses. The study population of the present study includes 2850 non-clinical population of men and women in Tehran. Cochran's formula was used to determine the sample size, which according to the calculations, the number of samples is 338 people. In order to measure the research variables including the scale of analytical experiences from Bernstein and Putnam (1986) questionnaire,depression, anxiety, stress DASS from the questionnaire (Lavibund and Lavibund, 1995) and Cognitive plasticity Dena and Van der Waals(2010). According to the test, it was found that psychological distress significantly predicts analytical experiences with the mediating role of cognitive flexibility. Psychological distress also significantly predicts dissociative experiences, and finally cognitive flexibility significantly predicts dissociative experiences. And research hypotheses were confirmed.
